What Are EMDR Intensives?
EMDR Intensives are extended therapy sessions that allow clients to make significant progress in a shorter time frame using Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Instead of traditional weekly sessions, intensives offer focused, longer blocks of time–typically half-day, full-day, or multi-day formats–designed to accelerate healing.
What to Expect
- Pre-Intensive Consultation: Assess goals and readiness
- Personalized Treatment Plan: Tailored to individual needs
- Intensive Sessions: Conducted in focused, uninterrupted time blocks
- Post-Session Support: Tools for continued healing and integration
How It Works
EMDR is an evidence-based therapy for processing trauma and emotional distress. In an intensive, the client and therapist work through a structured process including preparation, memory targeting, bilateral stimulation (such as eye movements or tapping), and closure. This format allows deeper therapeutic work without week-long gaps.
Benefits
- Rapid symptom relief
- Time and cost efficiency
- Flexible for busy schedules or out-of-town clients
