Rebecca Hea Rin Marks, MA, LMFT
Rebecca received her Master of Arts from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota in Minneapolis in 2015. She has worked in the mental health field since 2011 in a variety of roles, including CADI case management, serving as a house manager of an adult foster care home, and working as a residential, community-based, and outpatient mental health therapist. She started her own private therapy practice, Marks Therapeutic and Professional Services, LLC, in 2020, just before the Pandemic — and that is when she first began working with transracial adoptees and their families via telehealth. She has since worked in Intensive Residential Treatment Services facilities (IRTS), and outpatient and private practice.
Rebecca’s area of specialization is working with transracial and international adoptees and their families; however, she also enjoys working with people who are born into their biological families and are not adopted. She works with people who have borderline personality disorder, trauma, dissociative disorders, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorders, psychosis, and grief and loss. She is trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Brain Gym (a Somatic therapy), and will soon be trained in Internal Family Systems and Polyvagal theory therapies. She also enjoys working with couples and finds the Gottman Method to be a helpful framework.
Rebecca lives in Hopkins, MN with her husband and her cat, Oliver. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking at Minnesota state parks with her husband and exploring walking paths and trails around the city with friends who are avid walkers. Baking and cooking from scratch provide a soothing end to a long day, and having something delicious to look forward to makes it all the more rewarding. Rebecca is a writer who has completed a science fiction book and submitted essays to competitions. She loves to read, learn new things, and is a dedicated internet researcher with a particular interest in nutrition, wellness, and health-related topics. Her favorite part of the day is staying up late reading or writing.
